Kinder Downfall is the tallest waterfall in the Peak District, with a 30-metre fall. It lies on the River Kinder, where it flows west over one of the gritstone cliffs on the plateau edge. On 24th April, 1932, hundreds of people defied the law to walk over hills and moorland to the plateau of Kinder Scout, in a mass trespass to secure access rights to open country for all.
 
The view faces north east back into Kinder Scout and taking in the majesty of the tallest waterfall in the Peak District. Sometimes referred to as the reverse waterfall because the wind often picks up the cascading water and blows it back on itself, creating a vapour cloud that can be seen from miles around.
